In Disclosure Studio, you can build automated financial statements with any financial data in your system. This article walks through how to create new tables to view financial data in your statements, and how to export those views to Excel. Select the topic below to navigate directly to that section of the article:
Edit or Create a New View
To edit our automated financial statements, select the Tables button either on the MDFM Dashboard or in the Financial Model menu.
You have arrived in the pivots for your statement of net position. To verify that you have correct numbers in the pivots, follow these steps:
- Right-click anywhere on the table.
- Select the Rollup button.
To edit the pivot view or create a new view, select the Choose Fields button in the top right-hand corner.
In the field chooser, we can do the following...
- Select dimensions to show or data fields. Data fields are the final financial figures after mapping and adjustments have been completed. They are denoted by the letter sigma or the sum symbol.
- Filter through selecting the filter icon. You can combine an unlimited number of filters to create the automated tables you want to utilize.
- Select the OK button to finalize your selection. You will see the pivot refresh live behind the Field Chooser.
- When complete, select the X button in the top right-hand corner of the field chooser to close.
Save a View to Export to Excel
If you want to export this table, you will have to save it as a view in this hypercube. To save the current view to be exported, right-click anywhere on the table, and then follow the steps below.
- Select the View button.
- Select the Save as... button.
- Name your file.
- If you want this view to be the default view for the hypercube, select the checkmark box beside Default.
- Once complete, select the OK button.
You will now see your new automated table appear underneath the Tables menu. To export this table view to excel, select the Export to Excel button in the top right-hand corner of the pivot menu.
