This article is intended for: Users of Disclosure Studio.
Use this article to: Learn what all the specific user and group permissions accomplish inside of Disclosure Studio.
There are two types of user permissions to think about in Disclosure Studio. Select the option below to navigate directly to it.
Once you have added a user, you will be able to manage their permissions by selecting a Permission Category and/or the corresponding permissions below it.
Note: If an option below a Permission Category (Report as an example) are selected, the Permission Category will be selected by default. If you deselect a Permission Category, you will revoke all corresponding permission options.
Report Permissions
Report permissions allow you to set how users can interact and accomplish certain actions inside of a specific report. For instance, if a user has been given permissions to your ACFR, the user might not have permissions to the Budget Book. Essentially, you get to control what users see and do.
Report
There are two report permission options:
- Open Report: This permission allows the user to open that specific report.
- Edit Report: This permission enables the user to any part of the report in the Review & Edit pane.
Sections
There are four sections permission options:
- Move Workflow Step: This permission enables the user to move the workflow step (e.g. from data entry to review).
- Edit Section properties: This permission allows the user access to edit the properties for individual sections.
- Delete Section: This permission enables to delete a section in the navigation panel in the left-hand side.
- Create Section: This permission allows user to create a section in the navigation panel in the left-hand side.
Application Permissions
Application Permissions allow users to access system wide procedures. For example, managing users is a application permission.
Report
- Create Report: This permission enables the user to create new reports from scratch inside of Disclosure Studio.
- Access MDFM: This permission allows the user full access to the MDFM.
Settings
- Access Workflow: This permission allows the user to create and make changes to workflows in the Settings menu.
- Access User Managements: This permission allows the user to manage user management in the Settings menu. (You wouldn't be here otherwise!)
Pro-Tip: We recommend the best practice of only allow admins to have permissions to Settings.
ETL
- Select ETL Destination: This permission allows the user to upload financial data to a specific report, such as ACFR Trial Balance or Budget Book Chart of Accounts.
If you want to learn how to modify user permissions, you can learn more about that here.
