Data in MDA cube is linked directly to Government-wide cube based on system formulas. To resolve the issue of MDA consolidated tables giving incorrect numbers, try next steps:
-
Insure that data properly aligned with Government-wide and refreshed:
-
Roll Up the Cube:
-
Go to the MDA Cube
- Right-click on the Cube in the selection panel (left).
-
Select Roll Up to ensure proper aggregation of the data.
- Check if the number has been corrected. If yes, proceed with Refresh Imports.
-
-
Refresh Imports:
- Right-click on the Cube in the selection panel (left) and select Refresh Imports to reload any related data.
-
Also right-click on the Pivot and select Refresh Imports.
-
Roll Up the Cube:
- If the numbers are still incorrect. In most cases, formulas in MDA reference Government-wide statement groups (e.g., Folder for Long-Term Liabilities) and should automatically capture new lines. However, if the formula references individual line items, it may miss the new line.
- Compare totals like Total Assets, Revenue, etc., between the GW statement and the MDA consolidated table.
- Identify the group where discrepancies appear.
- Once you've identified the group with discrepancies, check the formulas in the MDA cube for that group. The error could be due to a new statement structure line item added in the current year, and the formula in MDA may not be capturing it.
- To update the formula:
- Navigate to MDA Cube > Mapping.
-
Open Formulas.
- Select the relevant table line item to see the current formula.
-
Edit the formula to include the new line item from the GW statement or add new line to MDA and add new formula.
- To update the formula:
-
If the Number is Wrong in the GW Cube:
- Identify the issue with the number in the GW cube.
-
Correct the value and then repeat the steps of Roll Up and Refresh Imports in the MDA cube.
-
Adjust for Rounding (if needed):
- If rounding is required in the MDA statement:
- Apply Rounding by Cube to the relevant table line (which not have a formula).
-
Post the rounding amount:
- For MDA statements in thousands, to correct 1$ use +/- 1,000.
-
For MDA statements in millions with decimals, to correct 1$ use +/- 100,000.
- If rounding is required in the MDA statement:
By following these steps, you can resolve discrepancies in the MDA consolidated table and ensure the data aligns with the GW cube.
