- Open the spreadsheet document you wish to represent in the chart.
- Select the data you want to represent. All columns must have a column header for the chart to display properly. As well, you cannot have empty columns.
- Click "Data"
- Click on "Named ranges".
- Name your range and then click "Done"
- To add a chart, click on the three dots to the right of the spreadsheet, click "Add Sibling". Then click "Chart".
- Click the "Name" field and name your new chart.
- Click the "Source Object" field and select the spreadsheet you wish to represent.
- Click "Source Range" and select the named range you created.
- Once complete, click "Create".
- To select the chart type, click on the bar chart icon in the top left of the chart canvas.
- In this tab, you will be able to select a different chart type for your chart.
- To change the settings of your chart, click on the slider bar icon to the left side of the chart canvas.
- In this menu, you can change various text or graphical features of your chart.
