How to Create a Cash Flow Statement in Gravity
- Open the Cash Flow hypercube.
- Open the Mapping tab.
- All local rules in the cash flow and cash flow reconciliation cubes must be linked to a statement line and a fiscal period. To create a local rule for either of these cubes, select the desired statement line.
- Click here to select the desired fiscal period.
- Select the desired period.
- Click on the chevron on the far right of the screen.
- Click on "Local Rules".
- Once the statement line and the period have selected, click on the blue circle to add a local rule.
- Click on the plus sign to add a row to the local rule.
- When finished, click "OK".
- Click on the three lines to right of "Local Rules".
- Then click "Re-Link All" to ensure all rules are correct.
- Having completed all mapping, click on "Pivot".
- Right click here to select the field chooser and create the pivot view to create the view for the cash flow statement.
This process will have to be repeated with the cash flow reconciliation hypercube before the Cash Flow Statement can be generated.
Adding new Line Items to Government Wide Statements
- Access the MDFM
- Once in the MDFM, click on “Administration”.
- Click on "Dimensions".
- Click on the Dimension where you want to add a Line Item.
- Once in that dimension, click on the pencil icon to the right of the Dimension. In this case, we will enter the “Statement Line” menu to add lines to our Cash Flow Statement.
- Once you entered into a category, click on the chevron to the left of the item you want to add line item or fund.
- To add line item to “Primary Government”, click on the plus sign to the right of “Primary Government”. Clicking on the plus sign to the right of any item will create a line item within the item you have selected.
- Once you have selected the correct item, enter the Name and Code of your new line item.
- Then click the floppy disc icon to the right.
- A menu will appear asking if you want to add this line item to the pivots. Click "No".
