Gravity: GASB 96 SBITA Lease Management

Individual SBITA Component Creation Method

1. Open the overflow menu, indicated by the three dots to the right of any object.

2. Click "Add Sibling".

3. Click "Smart Template".

4. Click "Lease".

5. Click on “GASB”.

6. Select "GASB 96 (SBITA)".

7. By selecting a department, the SBITA's contract name will autopopulate, but it is recommended to list lease number or contract numbers to make your lease reporting more navigable for auditors and users.

8. Once complete, click "Create" to create the individual lease template.

9. Inside of the GASB 96 Template, you must fill out all bolded lines to be able to generate the payment schedule. In the contract data panel, you will need to fill out the contract's commencement and end dates.

10. In the Financial Data panel, you can edit the payment information for the SBITA lease.

11. In the last panel, the only information that needs to be filled out is the discount rate.

12. Once you have filled out all the bolded lines, you will be able to create the payment schedule, indicated by the red "Update Payment Schedule" button in the top right-hand corner.

13. To view the Payment Schedule, open the Payment Schedule tab.

14. To export the payment schedule to an excel document, click on the export to excel icon in the top right-hand corner of the payment schedule.

Bulk SBITA Component Creation Method

This approach is used to create many SBITA templates all at once with pre-existing data.

1. Open the “SBITA Data Collection File”.

2. Duplicate the “County as Lessee (mass upload)” tab.

3. Delete all the old information from the duplicated tab.
    

   

   
   
    

4. Populate the columns with information about the new leases. Make sure to populate the mandatory columns painted in orange. It is important to note that you must follow the formatting of the cells precisely for the leases to generate properly. 

5. Delete all empty lines below the information you entered, so the file will look like this.

   

6. Go to an empty folder in your report free or create a new empty folder. In our example here I’ll use the “New” folder. Create a “Batch create Data Store”.
    

   

7. The template will be SBITA since you are working with GASB 96 Leases.
   
    

8. The other parameters should be set as follows.
   
    

9. Then click “OK”.This will initiate a process that will create lots of lease templates at once.

10. For this new information to appear in the reports folder, please wait between 10-20 minutes.
