Use this article for: Creating a new Strategic Plan.
From the Strategic Plans tab of the Strategic Planning Home Page, select the + Create New Strategic Plan button to get started!
- Enter a Name for this Plan. The Name can be changed at any time in Plan Settings.
- Enter a Description, this field is optional and can be changed at any time in Plan Settings.
- Select the Start Year. End Year is not required but allows you to have a multi-year Plan.

Manage the Terminology for the Planning Framework.
Note: At ClearGov, we use Focus Areas, Goals, and Action Items in our training materials, but feel free to set these to any Key Terms you would like. For example: Council or Board Initiatives.
Build the Plan
In the Strategic Plan, navigate to the Plan Manager Tab. Select + Add Focus Area to build the first level of your plan.
