Cloning a Plan from the Strategic Planning or Custom Plans modules is useful for rolling multi-year plans to the next Budget Year (if you choose to separate each year into its own plan), keeping consistent starting points for creating a series of departmental plans, and everything in between.
- Navigate to either Strategic Planning or Custom Plans from the navigation sidebar to begin.
- To the right of the Plan you want to clone, select Clone Plan from the Actions menu.
This will open the “Clone Plan” modal and you will have the option to set the same Name, Description, Budget Year, and Plan Type.
In addition, you will have the option to choose which parts of the original plan are pulled to the new one.
- All Level 1 items (we call them Focus Areas) will be copied over, and you can choose whether Level 2 items, Level 3 items and/or Collaborators will also get pulled to the new plan.
Note: Budget Allocations will not be copied to the newly created plan.
