Making one or more peer groups visible to individuals who visit your Transparency Center provides context. It helps visitors understand more than just the number, which alone may be perceived as either too high or too low.
You can create an unlimited number of peer groups and may designate each as public or private. By default, a peer group is private, and only users with login access to your organization's ClearGov account can see it.
To make a peer group visible to the public, follow these steps:
- Log in to your ClearGov account.
- Select the dropdown arrow next to the Transparency module in the left navigation column and then select Peer Groups.
- Toggle the Available to Public button to ON.
To view Peer Group data in your Transparency Center, navigate to the drop-down arrow by your username. Select View “your organizations” Page. For this example, select the Expenditures tab on your Transparency Center site.
Here you can filter by View and Fund. Depending on your filter when you scroll down the page you’ll notice some panels contain a comparison that shows a greater than or less than percentage in comparison with similar towns. Select View Analysis to see a more detailed comparison report.
