It’s important to note that you decide and control the breadth and depth of data available to the public on your Transparency Profile. This includes which funds are shown and whether or not line items and check details are visible. Through settings, you select which years of data to display to the public. Some clients have us upload data that will not be made public so it can be easily charted and referred to during internal planning meetings.
We recommend the following:
-
Actual revenue & expense data for at least 3 years. The majority of clients send us 3 to 5 years, but there is no maximum. By providing more years, trend charts will look better and you will be able to generate a longer forecast.
-
Budgeted revenue & expense data for at least the current and next fiscal year. Historical budgeted data is only needed if you would like to display budget-to-actual graphics for past years.
-
Check level detail for the most recent fiscal year (optional). If you wish to utilize our Open Checkbook feature, your data should include check-level detail for the most recent fiscal year with as much historical data as you’d like. For more information on this, check out our Support Center article Data Onboarding - Monthly Check Detail (Open Checkbook).
- Debt detail for the years you’d like to display (optional). Show your total outstanding debt on your site. This information may be broken down by fund and/or by debt categories of your choosing.
