Now that you have created your budget book, it’s time to add Dynamic Debt pages. Dynamic Debt pages display the data you have entered into the Debt Tool.

Reminder!
Once you’ve entered data into the Debt Tool, don’t forget to select the SUM button to save those values and ensure they are captured in the system. That is the only way Debt data will flow into the budget book.
Auto-generated Debt Pages
Upon the creation of your budget book, you will see an auto-generated Debt Services Overview section and two debt pages: Debt by Type and Debt by Fund. Let’s walk through each of these pages below.
Debt by Type
The Debt by Type page automatically contains the following content blocks:
- Debt By Type
- Debt type sections (e.g. General Obligation Bonds) for each type of debt that you entered debt data for in the Debt Tool
Each of these content blocks contains a section for adding narrative, a chart displaying a breakdown of debt, and a chart displaying debt details. Use this section to provide a summary of current debt obligations, describe the relationship between current debt levels and legal debt limits, and explain the effects of existing debt levels on current operations. The legal debt limits may be expressed in terms of total dollars, millage rates, or percentages of assessed value.

Debt by Fund
The Debt by Fund page automatically contains the following content blocks:
- Debt Service Payment By Fund
- Fund sections (e.g. General Fund) for each Fund that you entered Debt data for in the Debt Tool
Each of these content blocks contains a section for adding narrative, a chart displaying a breakdown of debt, and a chart displaying debt details. Use this section to outline debt’s current budget impact by specifying total principal and interest payments for major appropriated funds and significant unappropriated and other funds collectively.
More content blocks can be added, if needed. Review this Support Center article for instructions on adding custom content blocks.
Pro Tip: The charts and tables on the Debt pages can be hidden by hovering over them with your cursor, then selecting the Options button in the upper right corner of the content block, and then selecting the Hide option.
Add a Debt Page
Let’s say you want to display the Debt Service Payment of debt for a specific Fund or Funds. From the document in question, select Add Page and follow the steps listed below.
- Once you have chosen to add a page, select the Debt Pages tab.
- Select the Placement of the new page from the drop-down menu.
- Enter the Page Name.
- Select what Fund(s) you would like to use to create your debt page.
- Optionally, you can create multiple debt pages at once. Select the Add Debt Page icon and extra row(s) will appear in the table.
- Select the Add Page(s) button to create the new debt pages.
Review Debt Pages
Are your Debt charts and tables empty in your Debt pages?
Remember:
- Once you’ve entered data into the Debt Tool, don’t forget to select the SUM button. That is the only way Debt data will flow into the budget book.
- You’ll need to add Debt data for the same fiscal year as your budget book.
