Once enabled, your Transparency Center will display a Debt tab where constituents can view the debt values you’ve entered. Only the top-level categories will be displayed on the main Debt page, but constituents can select the View Breakdown buttons to see the debt values within the sub-categories.
A few things to note about Debt on the Transparency Center:
- The Debt tab must first be made available to the public for Debt values to display.
- You must select the Sum button in the Debt Tool table for data to flow into the Transparency Center.
- Deleting or adding years in the Debt Tool is the only way to control the years of Debt that display on the Transparency Center. We cannot recover deleted content, meaning a deleted year can not be brought back!
- The main Debt tab only displays the top categories of values entered into the Debt Tool, but constituents can select the View Breakdown button under each debt type to view lower-level category detail.
Pro Tip: Add Commentary to your Debt tab, such as descriptions about debt, interest rates, total amounts issued, and more!
