Upon the creation of your budget book, you will see an auto-generated Debt Services Overview section and two debt pages: Debt by Type and Debt by Fund.
Each of these pages contains content blocks for adding narrative, a chart displaying a breakdown of debt, and a chart displaying debt details.
A few things to note about Debt in the budget book:
- Debt data must be entered for the same fiscal year as the budget book for it to display.
- You must select the Sum button in the Debt Tool table for data to flow into the budget book.
- Deleting or adding years in the Debt Tool is the only way to control the years of Debt that display in the budget book. We cannot recover deleted content, meaning a deleted year can not be brought back!
- The Debt Details charts only display the top and lowest categories of values entered into the Debt Tool.
Not seeing your Debt data?
Once you’ve entered data into the Debt Tool, don’t forget to select the SUM button to save those values and ensure they are captured in the system. That is the only way Debt data will flow into the Budget Book and Transparency Center.
