Funding Sources can be marked as External, as shown in the screenshot above. Marking a funding source as External in Capital Budgeting means the funds are coming from outside your organization’s own budget—like grants, donations, or other outside contributions. This helps distinguish between money provided by your municipality and money coming from external sources.
The “External” option is off by default and needs to be turned on for each funding source where it applies. Once enabled, it shows up on capital request forms and in reports, such as the Funding Source Report, where you can add an “External” column.
