While it is best practice to send account requests to the data team for updating and to retain mapping consistency, you can add accounts within your Worksheet.

In the Worksheet, there is an action called Clone to New Account. Select a specific Account you'd like to clone that is already in location of the new account.

This allows you to create a brand new Account ID to add to your Operational Budget, but will clone the location of the original account. For example: the new account will be located in the same place in your chart of accounts, Fund, Department, Object etc.
Note: Accounts created inside the Operational Budgeting Worksheet by using the Clone to New Account action will NOT be available for selection in Capital Budgeting or Personnel Budgeting Account ID drop-downs as they were not created as part of your Chart of Accounts. However, the new Accounts will be available for view in your Budget Book or Transparency Site once you Save a Version of the Worksheet.
When cloning to a new account in the Worksheet, there are a few recommended steps to follow:
- Only add real accounts. Placeholder accounts like Unknown 1 or New Account cannot be updated later.
- Make sure the account number matches exactly with the current existing account structure.
- Make sure the account description is consistent across all years.
