Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: When should I use a rollover rule?
A: Within a manual table where you know in the next fiscal year you will need to copy and paste a new set of data. The rollover rules allow you to automate the copy and paste process of previous year data and create blank cells for the new report year.
Q: When do rollover rules take effect?
A: During the Rollover process for a report, you will review any rollover rules and choose to initiate them as part of the process. You can also manually execute a specific rollover rule within the Table as needed.
Q: Is it bad that my rules overlap?
A: Not at all, but it is critical that you position the rules in a way that the first rule to execute does not remove the data referenced in the next rule. Think about how you would copy and paste the data to shift the table’s data and build your rules according to what cells you would move first.
