On occasion, you may find that a formula (for fee payment or other calculations) is not returning the value you expected and instead shows as Undefined. So how do you resolve this?
The most common cause of an undefined result is that the formula is built using a number field that's included in a conditional section - and for the individual process you're seeing that the conditional section was not required and/or completed. A conditional section or step is a section or step that contains a field or a question that is only sometimes visible or triggered by logic.
To resolve remove the conditional terms from the formula and replace them with a field/ question in a non-conditional (always required) step.
Pro Tip: Use Default Values to pre-fill the most common answer to the question to make data entry easier for your applicants).
