Your Digital Budget Book comes with an autogenerated Capital Improvement section. ClearGov provides two pages, a one-year plan, and a multi-year plan. These pages are connected to your Capital Budget module and will be filled out as you solidify your capital budget and digital budget book.
Below, you will learn how to:
- Modify the Capital Budget settings
- Create and manage capital request pages
Modify the Capital Budget Settings
Navigate to your Digital Budget Book application and select the budget book you want to work with. Next, navigate to the Settings tab.
Now you can customize your capital requests by selecting the:
- Request Period - This is your preferred capital budget from the budgets you have created in the Capital Budgeting module.
- Budget View - If you have a paid subscription, you can select which scenario you would like to display in the budget book.
- Scenario Version - Based on the scenario you choose, you can also select the version of that scenario you would like to display (paid subscription).
- One Year Plan Fiscal Year - The budget book will use the data from your capital requests for the selected year in the One Year Plan.
Create and manage capital requests pages (Editor Tab)
Navigate to the Editor tab and expand the Capital Improvement navigation section.
- Select the Plus icon next to the section name in the navigation tree to add a new page to a section.
- To reorder pages within a section, or nest a page under another page, drag and drop the page in the navigation pane.
Now, select the page you wish to customize.
- To rename a page, select the Edit icon next to the page name.
- In your One Year or Multi-Year plan you can hide irrelevant charts by selecting the eye icon.
- Reorder panels by dragging and dropping the panel into position or selecting the up/down arrow to move the panel up or down the page.
Pro Tip: Add an introduction or additional details to each page by adding panels or selecting the edit icon on the rich text narration boxes.
The pages you choose to include in your CIP section will depend on the information you wish to share. Note: The best practice is to only hide pages in this section by selecting the eye icon if you do not wish to display the one-year or multi-plan page. Do not delete pages or you may lose the ClearGov-created content.
On your budget book website, a constituent will be able to select a request to see more details. In the PDF printed version requests will be printed in the Appendix.
