After Creating Units, you can create a wage schedule and then add the corresponding jobs. There are two ways to add jobs to a wage schedule. Navigate to either option by selecting the method below.
- Navigate to the Data Model Manager tab.
- Select the Wage Schedules subtab.
- Then select Create New Wage Schedule.

Enter the needed information:
- Enter a Schedule Name.

Select the appropriate Unit.
Note: Each Wage Schedule can only be associated with one unit! - Select whether Compensation for this role is hourly or annual.
- Select whether Progression in this role is determined by tenure (an employee’s salary automatically increases after a given period) or by merit (based on other criteria your municipality has set).
- Select the maximum number of steps in the role.

Optionally, you can set some default fields to be used when creating a job:
- Dept./Division
- Standard Hours - this represents the annual hours worked in a fiscal year

Dimensions (based on your chart of account structure - i.e., fund, function, location, etc.)
Note: Default fields can be changed later for each job.
- Select the Create button to save the wage schedule.
Jobs in a Wage Schedule
Create a Job Manually
- To manually add a new job, select the +Add New Job button in the upper right-hand corner of the table.
- Enter the needed information to create the job.
- Enter a Job Title and a Job Code. Job Codes must be unique per job.
- Optionally, enter a Grade and Budget Classifications.
- Enter the Standard Hours or number of annual hours for the fiscal year that must be worked by an employee to be considered full-time. For example: 2080 hours of the finance director for that fiscal year.
- Select the Save button.
Pro Tip: Using a job code for each department allows your allocations to be assigned to employees automatically. If you’d like to use a single job code across multiple departments, you’ll need to manually update each employee’s allocations
Bulk Upload Wage Schedule Jobs
To add several roles at once, use the bulk upload tool.
- Select Bulk Upload in the upper right-hand corner of the table.
- Download the Wage Schedule Template. The template will have columns for the number of steps you told the Wage Schedule to include. Pro Tip: Before downloading the template, take advantage of editing your step names, especially when using Min, Mid, and Max steps. Open the template in a spreadsheet application and enter your wage details. Save your file.

Job Title, Job Code, and Standard Hours are required.
Note: Job code must be unique. -
Step data is optional but highly recommended. For Salaried roles, enter the annual salary. For hourly roles, enter the hourly rate.
Note: If your template does not have enough Steps, you may add additional Step columns. You will need to update your Wage Schedule settings to match prior to upload. - Grade is optional.
- Select the Start button to begin the import verification process
- Select Upload Data from File. Upload the completed file.
