Capital Project Tracking - Assign Tracker Items

Editors can assign contributors to multiple project items (projects, phases, action items, and tasks) at once using the Project Assignments activity. 

Note: The table displays the full tree of project Items. Select the arrows to drill into the view of the lowest-level item.

The editor can select the project items the editor wants to update and choose one of the 3 actions: 

• Add Contributors 
• Replace Contributors 
• Clear Contributors

Add Contributors to a Selected Plan

Select Add Contributors to add users to the selected project items. Upon choosing this option, select the users you want to add to the project items and select the Add Contributor(s) to Selected Project Items button.

Replace Contributors in a Selected Plan

Select Replace Contributors to replace the existing Contributors assigned to project items with a new set of users chosen. Upon choosing this option, a similar modal like the one for adding contributors will appear. Select the users you wish to replace the currently assigned users with on the chosen project item(s). Lastly, select the Replace Contributor(s) to Selected Project Items button. 

Clear Contributors from a Selected Plan

Select Clear Contributors to clear the existing Contributors assigned to Project Items and reset to the “no Contributors Assigned” state. Select Clear All Contributors to confirm that you want to take this action to move forward with the removal.

Note: A contributor assigned to a higher level will automatically be able to edit the levels underneath. For example, a Contributor assigned to a Project can edit all Phases and Steps below it. It is important to note that this is different from assigning a Project Item. Assigning a Project Item will make that user the owner of the Project Item, and they will be responsible for the updates and receive all e-mails related to the assigned items.

Add Collaborators within a Project Item

Select Contributors inside the Project, Phase, or Step Settings to quickly view a list of all possible assignees and assign their items directly inside the project item.
