A good alternative to Itemizations is adding Notes in the Worksheet.
- Notes can be exported in the Report Builder as well as the Digital Budget Book, similar to itemizations.
- Notes can always be edited and deleted. If internal documentation is needed, Attachments are a great tool as well.
How do I export Notes in Operational Budgeting?
- To export Notes, you will navigate to the Reports Tab of your Operational Budget.
- Open the Columns menu on the right-hand side of the Report
- Add in the Additional Information Column section -> Notes
Pro Tip: If you don’t see Notes as an option in the Columns Menu, you might not have any Notes added in the Worksheet yet. Once you add a Note to an Account, it will be able to be exported in Reports.
How do I show Notes and Itemizations in the Digital Budget Book?
In your dynamic Financials Pages inside your Digital Budget Book, there are auto-generated Financial Schedule Tables.
- Navigate to a Financial Page, like a Fund Page or Department Page.
- Locate a Financial Schedule Table, underneath each section of graphics. There is one for each panel type (Expenditures by Department, Revenue by Fund, etc)
- Select Configure to open the Financial Schedule Table settings.
- Lastly, open the Columns menu and check the box to include the Notes column.
If you don’t see the Notes column as an option, see the pro-tip above and make sure you have Notes inside your Operational Budget, and you have saved a version of your worksheet.
