When importing, the Personnel or Capital Budgeting imports will create new itemizations under the appropriate Account, matching on Account ID, but the import tool will update the description and value if an itemization already exists in the budget with the same parent account ID.
- Personnel Budget Example: If you import Scenario 1 with an itemization “123 - Wages - Police Chief” value of $100,000, then choose to import a second scenario where the “123 - Wages - Police Chief” were $120,000, we will update the value in the In Progress or Forecasted column to $120,000.
- Capital Budget Example: If you import Scenario A with an itemization “Annual Street Maintenance - Construction/Maintenance” value of $25,000, then choose to import a second scenario where the “Annual Street Maintenance - Construction/Maintenance” was $30,000, we will update the value in the In Progress column to $30,000.
Note: In Capital Budgeting, the Account ID selected in that year of the financial panels of the request form is what will become itemizations in Operational Budgeting for that request. For example: Capital Costs, Funding Sources, Operating Costs, etc.
