Page variables allow report editors to link to specific content on a page within a block of text in a report. When the reader clicks on the variable, they will be taken to that section of the report to reference the content. The variables are dynamic in that if the page number changes, the variable will change as needed keeping your report always up-to-date.
Reference a Page in Text Walkthrough
Select Next to move through the guide. You can also zoom in and out of the image by selecting the Magnifying Glass in the bottom right-hand corner. You can view the full guide by selecting the External Link icon.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Find the specific content within a report that you want to reference.
- Click the page-variable copy (link) icon within a content block on the page you want to reference.
- You will see a green success message if the Page Variable is copied.
- Navigate to the text block you want to insert the page variable and click within the text where you want to place it.
- Click Insert Variable and select Page.
You will see the Page Variable inserted into your text. It will be a purple box with purple font and include a link icon, the word Page and # icon. You can also copy and paste the variable to other text blocks within your report by selecting it and using Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V to copy and paste.

A: Since the report is dynamic, the # is a placeholder to what page the content lands. When the report is generated, the page variable will have the specific page number listed.
