Note variables allow report editors to link to a specific note within a block of text in a report. When the reader clicks on the variable, they will be taken to the note to reference the content. The variables are dynamic in that if the note number changes, the variable will change as needed keeping your report always up-to-date.
Reference a Note in Text Walkthrough
Select Next to move through the guide. You can also zoom in and out of the image by selecting the Magnifying Glass in the bottom right-hand corner. You can view the full guide by selecting the External Link icon.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Select a Note in the left side navigation of your Report
- Click the Options (three dots) Icon
- Click Link to connect to the note.
- You'll see a green success message if the Note reference was copied.
- Find the text block and click within the text where you want to add the note reference.
- Tip: Note variables can also be inserted into locked content blocks.
- Click Insert Variable and select Note.
You will see the Note Variable inserted into your text. It will be a purple box with purple font and include a link icon, the word Note and the number of the note. You can also copy and paste the variable to other text blocks within your report by selecting it and using Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V to copy and paste.
