In Disclosure Studio, mapping local rules allows you to automate how specific financial data is categorized and presented in your financial statements.
A local rule is a custom configuration you create to map your unique Account Codes or Object Codes to specific Financial Statement Lines. Think of it as a bridge that tells the system: "Whenever you see this specific local account, place its value in this specific section of the report." Once you've located the statement containing the rule(s) you wish to edit, follow these steps to edit a local rule.
Pro-Tip: Use the chevron icons (🔽) to drill into statement columns.
- Select the Local Rules tab to see existing local rules for that statement.
- Select the edit pencil icon to the right of your desired rule.
- Select the field you want to edit, and then select the pencil icon.
- Edit the desired Field, Type, or Value. For instance, in the Value cell, input the account code you wish to link to this line.
- When complete, select the Save button.
- Select the OK button to finalize the rule.
- Important! After editing or creating a rule, select the chain icon 🔗 in the top right-hand corner to relink all accounts.
Pro-Tip: To export all the data in the panels, select the Export all data to Excel button. This will download all the information displayed as an excel file.
