The Demographics settings in ClearGov give you control over the data that appears on your public-facing Transparency Center by managing both category visibility and year ranges.
Control Category Availability
The Manage Categories Availability feature allows you to control which high-level demographic categories are visible across your ClearGov products. This ensures your public transparency center reflects your specific reporting needs.
Follow the steps below to manage the visibility of demographic categories:
- From the ClearGov dashboard, navigate to Demographics under the Tools.
- Select the Manage Categories Availability button. This will open a list of categories
- To show or hide a category from view, select or deselect that category in the list.
- Select the Save button.
The categories you deselected will appear grayed out in the list to indicate they are inactive. On your public-facing Transparency Center, that section will be removed, displaying only the data you indicated.
Manage Specific Data Years
You can control which years of data are displayed for each category. ClearGov provides the most recent data available, but you can limit the visible range to a specific interval.
To manage the years of data displayed, follow the steps below:
- Select the Data Category row you would like to adjust the year visibility for, such as “Total Population”.

Use the Year checkboxes for that category to select or deselect specific years.
- For example, If you would only like to display data starting from 2009 - 2021, uncheck all years outside of that interval.
Unchecking subsequent years will instantly update your transparency center's charts, shown in the image below:
