The Report Builder in Disclosure Studio is the place to design, build and finalize your reports. During your implementation, much of your report will be set up for you, but there are key tasks you will need to complete as a user to finalize a report or update year over year. This guide is meant to help you onboard and navigate the Report Builder so you are ready to tackle these tasks.

Navigate the Report Dashboard
Select Next to move through the guide. You can also zoom in and out of the image by selecting the Magnifying Glass in the bottom right-hand corner. You can view the full guide by selecting the External Link icon.
Key Areas of the Report Dashboard
- The default view will be a Grid View of the images of the Report Cover Pages. You can switch to a List View if you prefer by toggling the List icon.
- Use Filter By to select a specific type of report you are looking for.
- Select the Active filter if you are looking to find archived reports. Active is default.
- Sort by will allow you to sort the reports shown by either Last Updated, Creation Date or Report Name.
Key Terms of the Report Builder
Report
- Workflow: Serve as a project management tool. Build workflows and apply them to sections on the report to help you keep track of the report building process.
- Theme: Typically selected during the implementation process, the theme provides the visual elements of the report to enhance the reader’s experience.
- Layout: Each report’s theme will have varying layouts to let you choose how you want the information to display.
- Variable: A reference to a section, figure or static value in a report. This reference will stay dynamic to its connection so that when the reference updates, the variable placeholder will update accordingly.

Sections: Sections are groups of pages that will appear in the report.

Within a Section:
- Locked Blocks: On any section in Disclosure Studio, you will have locked Blocks including an Entity block, a Full Fiscal Period block, and a Title Block. These blocks are meant to be added to specific layout design elements.
- Content Blocks (editable): On Content and Note sections, you will be able to add and edit content blocks.

Icon Glossary
While many of the icons within Disclosure Studio are similar to common publishing softwares, below are some of the icons in the Report Builder that are exclusive to our designer.
Report

| Copy a Report | Use this when rolling forward a report to the next fiscal year. | |
| Workflows Dashboard | Review the report's overall workflow progress and apply workflows to and manage steps for multiple sections of a report. |
Report Section
| Icon | Purpose | Notes |
| Locked Content Block | These content blocks are used within the page template. | |
| Table of Contents Column Layout | Table of Contents can be split up into up to 3 columns within a section. | |
| Balanced Columns | Forces the content in the columns to remain the same height. | |
| Content Block Placement | Use this to move a content block up and down within a section. | |
| Paste a Block | First copy a block then use this icon to paste a block into a section. This can be used across multiple sections. | |
| Copy a Block | Select to copy a block and paste it within another section of the report. | |
| Delete a Block | Once deleted a block cannot be recovered. | |
| Copy Page Variable | Typically located in the upper right corner of a content block. Select this first to create a page variable to the block. | |
| Hyperlink | Used to add and manage a hyperlink on text. | |
| Footnote | Insert footnote within a text block. | |
| Remove line breaks from selected text | When multiple paragraphs are selected, use to remove the line breaks for formatting. | |
| Header Information | Within an MDFM or Manual Table, allows you to edit and manage Header and Footer information. |
Table Editor

| Wrap Text | Wrap text within selected cells. | |
| Merge the Selected Cells | Merge selected cells within a table. | |
| Format Cells | Change the format of selected cells to common formats including currency, accounting, percentage, date and time . | |
| Toggle Search | Search and replace within the worksheets of the table editor. | |
| Show/Hide Formulas | Use the toggle to see the formulas applied to cells. | |
| Add Variable and Remove Variable | Add or remove a Number or Report Variable within a cell. The cell will have a purple outline if it is a variable. | |
| Add Hyperlink and Remove Hyperlink | Add or remove a hyperlink within a cell. | |
| Insert Data | Add a worksheet referencing MDFM data, either a flattened version of the table or the linked accounts. As data updates within the MDFM, the sheet will also update. | |
| Import | Import data to the table from an Excel File. | |
| Add Rollover Rules and Manage Table Rollovers | Set up rollover rules to automatically carry hardcoded values forward from one year to the next. | |
| Table Notes | Add and manage footnotes within the cells of a manual table. |
