It is important to note while managing users in ClearGov User Management that deleting a user will remove their comments, notes, and any contributions they made to the budgets.
Therefore, it is generally advised not to delete users that were active in the system.
Instead, to restrict their access, you can update their email address, password, and role in User Management.
Follow the steps below to safely remove a user in User Management:
- Access User Management within ClearGov.
- Select the More Actions three dots.
- Select Edit User.
- Edit the user's email address by adding "_archive" or any suitable identifier to it (e.g., janedoe_archive@mail.com).
- Adjust the user's role to "Read Only" to limit their permissions.
- Change the user's password to prevent their login.
Configuring the user as read-only and changing their password effectively prevents access for the user while retaining their contributions and information within ClearGov.
