ClearGov Academy - Navigate

ClearGov Academy is a robust library of courses to help you learn how to use ClearGov's products. Courses are broken down into short, digestible segments for easier learning. ClearGov Academy is the one-stop shop for all training—whether you’re brand new or a seasoned pro. Let’s walk through exactly how to find the content you need, when you need it.

Navigate ClearGov Academy

To access ClearGov Academy, log in to your ClearGov account and go to the My Dashboard page. Select the ClearGov Academy link located in the Support & Training section, or the question mark icon to the left of your name and choose ClearGov Academy from the menu.

Inside ClearGov Academy you’ll see several different tabs and areas to access content. Let’s walk through each of these below.

1. Main navigation - from the navigation bar at the top of ClearGov Academy, access the following tabs:
   • Dashboard - Your one-stop shop for learning in progress, learning not started, and a calendar of live sessions for which you’ve registered
   • My Learning - Access and take courses in which you’ve enrolled
   • Live Learning - Register for live learning sessions
   • Catalog - Our full catalog of ClearGov Academy courses, where you can browse and enroll in new courses
2. Search for enrolled courses - Find a specific course in which you’re already enrolled
3. User settings - Upload a profile picture, change your display name, select your preferred language, and more
4. My live sessions - A monthly calendar displaying live sessions for which you’ve registered. Select the view all button to see historical and future live sessions
5. Learning in progress - Courses you’ve started taking
6. Learning not started - Courses you’re enrolled in but haven’t started taking yet 

The ClearGov Academy Dashboard

When you first arrive, your dashboard may look empty. This is because our system needs a few seconds to pull in the courses tied to your account. The ClearGov modules your organization has purchased and your ClearGov role determine which courses you see.

Once the platform syncs, you’ll start seeing your assigned courses under Learning In Progress or Learning Not Started: these are the modules you need to complete. Think of them as your ‘to-do’ list for mastering ClearGov. As you finish lessons, they’ll move to Completed so you can track your own progress.

My Learning in ClearGov Academy

Head to the My Learning tab to view your personal catalog of courses. This includes everything you've been automatically assigned, plus any optional training courses in which you've enrolled. 

Here you’ll see three tabs: Courses, Learning Paths, and Learning Journeys. We’ll walk through each of these below.

Courses

In the Courses tab you can view courses in which you’ve already been enrolled. Use the search box to search for a specific course, or use the drop-downs to narrow by category (e.g., “Budgeting,” “Transparency,” “Reporting”) or by status (In Progress vs. Not Started).

Below the course you’ll see the date in which you were enrolled, the overall rating for the course, and the number of modules within each course. Most courses will have one module, because we aim to keep training as bite-sized as possible.

Courses that comprise a larger topic (e.g. Digital Budget Book on ClearDocs for Editors) will be found under Learning Paths and Learning Journeys which contain courses in a logical order to guide you through each topic. 

Learning Paths

Learning Paths bundle together the same individual courses you’d get in a Journey, but are available for self-enrollment straight from the Catalog.

If you want to explore a module you don’t yet have, head to the Course Catalog and look under Learning Paths. Just select Enroll on any Path, and its courses will populate on your dashboard under Learning Not Started and the Learning Paths section of your My Learning tab.

Learning Journeys 

Learning Journeys are sets of courses for products your organization already subscribes to. If you have a module, you’ve been automatically enrolled in its Journey and all of its courses will appear there.
