4 Steps to Getting Started in the Personnel Budgeting Module
Step 1: Create a Personnel Budget
Once the ClearGov team has fully onboarded your data, select Create New Personnel Budget to get started. Invite other Editors to collaborate with you on creating your Personnel Budget.
Pro-Tip: To keep track of your progress, utilize the Progress Tracker in the upper right-hand corner.

Step 2: Set Up Your Data Model Manager
The Data Model Manager is made up of 5 main data points: Units, Wage Schedules, Additional Pays, Benefits and Allocations. These data points are are tied together by a Job Code which you will utilize to reference the values you create on a Position. Think of it as you are building out the pieces to help you put the budget together.

Step 3: Add Individual Employee Positions
Use Positions to make your Personnel Budget reflect the current state of your organization's personnel. Filled Positions represent the people currently in your organization while Vacancies allows you to account for open positions waiting to be filled. Turning on Position Control, let's you account for the total number of positions budgeted for in your organization.

Step 4: Budget with Scenarios
Time for the real fun to begin! Build out Scenarios to budget for the future. You can make multiple Scenarios to allow you to compare different adjustments. You can then filter by any of your Scenarios in Reports and the Dashboard as well as Import Scenarios into your Operational Budget (subscription required).
