This article is intended for: Editors and Contributors responsible for adding and editing content in a document.
Use this article after: the document (budget book, digital financial report, CIP document, or custom document) has been created and you are ready to add custom tables.
Note: You can select any image below to zoom in.
You can choose to include custom tables inside any of the narrative text boxes in your document.
Create a Table
- To insert a table into a text panel, click into a narrative text box.
- Then, select the Table icon.
- Determine the number of rows and columns to create the table.
Table Action Options
Select a cell inside of the newly created table to view the action options.
- Toggle Caption On - Toggle the Caption On button creates a new row at the top of the Table for a title or caption.

Column Settings - Select Column settings to open the Column menu to:
- Set Header Column
- Insert Column to the left or right of the selected cell

Row Settings - Select Row Settings to open the Row actions to:
- Set Header Row
- Insert Row to the right or left of the selected cell

Merge Cell
- Merge cells in any direction (up, down, left, or right)
- Split the cell horizontally or vertically

Cell Properties
- Open the Cell Properties to manage the format of that single cell
- Manage Cell Borders, Background color, cell dimensions, and padding
- Manage the Cell text alignment vertically and horizontally
- Select the Save button to publish changes
- Pro Tip: Hold down shift to select and manage multiple cells at once!

Table Properties - Select Table Properties to format the entire table:
- Manage table Borders, Background color, cell dimensions, and padding
- Manage the Cell text alignment vertically and horizontally
- Select the Save button to publish changes
Note: Our Report modules support wide table printing. If the table has too many columns, the PDF will wrap and display the continuation of the table under the original.
Note: The custom table will automatically center in the document unless left or right alignment is selected.
