This article is intended for: ClearGov Administrators or Contributors who have a subscription to ClearGov's Transparency module.
Use this article after: You're ready to edit your newly created projects, or if you need to make updates to an existing project

Once your Project page has been created, you can edit it to fill out key details, assign contributors as a manager of the project, and more. Remember, there are multiple ways to add projects to Transparency. The best method will depend on your subscriptions in ClearGov. If these instructions do not fit your needs, please talk to your ClearGov point of contact.
There are 8 steps that can be completed when editing projects in Transparency. Select the step below to navigate directly to that section.
- Edit the Title, Description, and Supporting Materials
- Edit the Project Location
- Edit the Project Budget, Funding & Expenditures
- Edit the Project Management details
- Edit the Project Timeline
- Add custom panels to your Project
- Assign contributors to the project in Page Management
- Update the status of a project in Page Status
The Editor Tab
The Editor tab allows you to fill out the fields for this Project. Edits are saved automatically as you work.
As you are editing, to see what the project page would look like, select Preview Project Page in the upper right corner.
Title, Description, and Supporting Materials
- Title: Select the pencil icon next to a New Project or the title description name to change the title.
- Description: Select the pencil icon next to Description to add text describing your project. When entering text in this area, you can apply stylings such as text color, weight, bullets, links, indentations, and several other options. You can also edit the HTML code if you are familiar with how to do that.

Images: Select + Add New Image next to Images to upload images.
- For each image, enter a Name (required) and Description (optional)
- You can add as many images as you'd like and visitors will be able to scroll through them. Visitors will also be able to click on each image to get a larger view.
- Select the Change Order button to modify the order of images.

Documents and Links: Select the + Add New Document and/or Add New Link buttons to upload documents and create links to other web pages.
- For each item, enter a Name (required) and Description (optional)
- You can add as many documents and links as you'd like. Select the Change Order button to modify the order.
Project Location
- Enter the address for the project by searching for an address, dropping a marker, or drawing an area. When a visitor clicks on the Projects navigation item on your Transparency Center or Capital Improvements Page, a map is shown with a pinpoint for each project.
- By default, the map is not shown on your project page. To make it visible, toggle the eye icon to Show Panel.
Project Budget, Funding & Expenditures
- Project Budget: Select the pencil icon next to Description to add commentary about the project budget.

Under Expenditures by Type:
- Select the pencil icon next to the Expenditure Type column header and edit the text to reflect the type of expense (e.g. Feasibility Study, Design, Construction). Note: If you are only going to use one Expenditure Type, consider entering "Overall" as the column header.
- Enter a dollar value (without the dollar sign) under the column header for Projected Expenditures and another dollar value below that for Expenditures to Date.
- If you have more than one Expenditure Type, select the Add Expenditure Type button.
- Select Generate Chart.

Under Source of Funding:
- Enter funding source (e.g. grant, town, DOT) under Data Type.
- Enter a dollar amount (without the dollar sign) under Data Value next to the funding source.
- If you have more than one funding source, select the Add Data Type.
- Select Generate Chart.

Under Expenditures Over Time:
- Select the pencil icon next to the Time Period 1 column header and edit the text to reflect desired time period (e.g. Oct. 2024).
- Enter a dollar value (without the dollar sign) under the Time Period column header.
- If you have more than one Time Period, select the Add Time Period button.
- Select Generate Chart.
- By default, budget information is not shown on your project page. To make it visible, select the Eye icon to show the panel.
Project Management

Phases
- On the left side of this section, you can specify the phases of your project. You can use the pre-defined phases listed, edit their names, delete them or add more.
- Select the checkbox to the left of the phase to signify that is the current status of your project.

Project Manager
- On the right side of this section, you can enter the contact information for the Project Manager.
- Select the Upload button next to the default image to upload a picture of the Project Manager.
- Select the Save button when complete.
- By default Project Management information is not shown on your project page. To make it visible, select the Eye icon to show the panel.
Project Timeline

Projected Timeline
- On the left side of this section you can add key dates or milestones for your project (e.g. public hearing, planned vote, design approved, construction begins, Phase 1 complete, etc.).
- To add a Projected Timeline item, select the Add Timeline Update link and enter the Date and Description.

Current Updates
- On the right side of this section is where you add current updates (e.g. public hearing will be in room 201 at Town Hall or Main Street will be closed for 2 days for road repair).
- To add a Current Updates item, select the Add Timeline Update link and enter the Date and Description.
- By default, Project Timeline information is not shown on your project page. To make it visible, select the Eye icon to show the panel.
Adding New Panels
If you would like to add a custom panel to the bottom of your project, scroll down the page and select the Add New Panel button.
Page Management
The Page Management tab allows you to set a Project Owner. Select + Add Contributor to add an additional person to contribute to the Project Page.
Toggle on Comment Notifications to set if you want e-mail notifications when a comment is posted on the Project Page.
Page Status
There are three project status options to select from: Proposed, Active, and Archived.
- Proposed - You can optionally set a date to automatically change the status to Active.
- Active - You can optionally set a date to automatically change the status to Archived
- Archived - You are required to enter the date on which the project was archived.
