This article explains how to create a chart in ClearGov using your custom data or financial data from ClearGov.
NOTE: To generate charts based on the financials you've provided to ClearGov, you must Enable Client Data in the Financial Data module of the Transparency application.
- In the Charts Module, Select the Create New Chart button.
- Select a Chart Type. You can select each type of chart to learn more.
- Pie Chart
- Bar Chart
- Trending Chart
- Gauge Chart
- Org Chart
- Note: Changing your chart type after entering custom data will require you to re-enter your data.
- Complete the Chart Data Source section.
- Select a Data Source: Cleargov financial data or Custom financial data
- Select Year.
- Select Account: Expenditures or Revenues
- Select Financial Data: Budgeted or Actuals
- Select Chart Display: Funds, Department/Divisions, or Objects. Then select the detail categories you wish to display. To expand the list of categories under revenue or expense, click on the arrow to the left of the category name.
- Optionally, determine if you wish to use Filters to determine what departmental data and object data should be displayed.
- Select Generate Chart after the Data Source section is complete.
- Select the pencil icon at the top of the chart to change the Chart Title.
- Select the Save button in the upper-right area of the page to save the chart. Once saved, you can download the image or generate HTML code to embed the image on your website.
Note: If you are using Trending charts, you can select to show both Budgeted and Actual data when creating a chart and the app will automatically use the default budget/actual version for the appropriate fund.
Pro Tip: If you are using a bar, pie, or trending chart, you can select a version for each year and fund that is displayed on the chart. Data can be selected from any budget version created with the Operational Budgeting application (for users with a subscription) or the default budget uploaded by ClearGov for you.
