Navigate to the Data tool and select the Journal Entries tile.
- From the Journal Entry table, select the +Add Journal Entry icon.
- Next, enter some details:
- Entry # will be auto-generated for you.
- Input Description in the text field.
- Select the Created Date.
- From the Entry Type dropdown, select Adjustment, Reclassification, or GASB.
- Select the Version From and To. Note: The Version From and To can be the same version types.
- Optionally, include a Memo for any relevant details you'd like to note.
- Next, select the + Select Accounts icon to choose which accounts you want to include in the journal entry.
Select Accounts for the Journal Entry
Now that you have selected the +Select Accounts icon, you can start to locate and select your accounts.
- Quickly look up accounts by description, type, fund, department, and/or object by utilizing the Search bar feature.
- Select and drag columns to the Row Group filter to display your accounts by groups, such as if you want to group accounts by fund and department.
- Select the Column Menu bar to select or deselect the columns you wish to display.
- Select the accounts that will be part of the journal entry.
- Then choose the Select Accounts button to be able to enter debit and credit amounts.
Enter Debit and Credit Values
- In the Debit and Credit columns, enter values by selecting the appropriate field.
- To delete a line item, select the three dots and select the Delete icon.
- To add additional accounts, select the +Select Accounts icon.
- Select the Save Entry Information button if you want to draft your journal entry without posting it. Select the Post Journal Entry button to post the entry to the financial worksheet. Double-check to make sure your journal entry is balanced before posting!
