The Dollar Bill Chart is an alternative representation of a traditional pie chart. Instead of using circular slices, this visualization divides a rectangular image of a dollar bill into proportional sections. Each section represents a specific part of the whole, making it easier to compare numerical data in a familiar, financial-based format. This method provides a unique way to illustrate statistical proportions while maintaining the clarity of a standard pie chart.
- Select the Dollar Bill Chart on the Chart Type.
- Select the Dollar Bill Chart Style.
- Choose the Data Source information that you would like displayed on the pie chart.
- Select the Budget Versions.
- Select the Generate Chart button.
- Chart Settings allows you to change the background of the dollar bill to a real $100 bill or a ClearGov Bill, as well as adjust the Chart Style, Size, Legend, Labels, and Chart Data.
- The Data Source can also be edited on this page.
- Once you are finished editing the chart select Save Chart.
Note: In the Chart Settings, you can set Alt Text (alternative text) to be read aloud to users by screen readers software. Alternative (Alt) Text is meant to convey the “why” of the chart and image as it relates to the content of a document or webpage.
- For existing charts, the alt text will populate with the chart name as a placeholder that can be revised at any time.
- For newly created charts we'll populate the chart type as the default placeholder.
Once the chart is saved, you will have the ability to:
- Add Collaborators to the Chart
- Lock the chart meaning no edits can be made
- Clone (copy) the chart
- Download a png. file
- Copy an HTML code
