Digital Budget Book on ClearDocs
Biennial Budget Creation
With this release, clients can now create a biennial budget book within ClearDocs. During the first step of budget book creation, users can now select with which budget type they wish to create the document: Annual Budget or Biennial Budget.
If the client selects “Biennial Budget” as the the type of document they would like to create, then on step 2, they will have the option to choose which two budget data sources they would like to use for the document for the two years. A user must select two budget data sources for both years. However, this can be two annual budgets or one biennial budget created within the Operational Budgeting application.
Once the document is created, users can create financial pages based on both years of selected data. Pages will include two single-year donut charts, multi-year historical charts, and financial schedule tables. A user can always update the financial data sources used to generate the page for each year if needed.
Capital Improvement Page Summary Table Views
If a client has linked a Capital Budget to their Budget Book, they will now have the option to present some of that capital data in a summary view. When the Capital Improvement Plan pages are created within the document, the system automatically populates those pages with data and information from the included requests. On particular pages, the system displays all requests grouped by project type or department and will show each year’s capital costs or funding amounts within a table view. For some clients, especially those with larger numbers of included capital projects, it may be useful to show more of a summary view in places and extended details in others. Now within the document Settings of the “Data Sources” section, a user will be able to turn on a toggle for “Enable Summary Table Views” under the “Capital Budgeting Data Source” section. Turning on this toggle will convert tables to a summary view showing only the total row for each grouping for the Project Type, Departments, Expenditures and Revenues pages located under the Capital Improvements section of the document.
