It depends on the wage schedule progression type.
Tenure wage calculations are tied directly to the Step amounts set in the Wage Schedule. This is expected functionality due to the strict nature of the auto-advance calculations.
Merit wages are easily manipulated in the Positions tab under Employees and the Employee Detail Pages.
