Units are the largest groups of jobs with access to the same benefits and additional pay options. The best way to think about your Units is to think through what employee groups in your organization have access to the same additional pays and benefits.
For example, Collective Bargaining Units or Unions may have a contract with other additional pays and benefits that your Full-Time Salaried employees may not have access too. You would want to create a Unit for the Union Employees and a Unit for the Full-Time Salaried Employees to ensure that they only have access to the additional pays and benefits that apply to them.
Note: Even if everyone has the same additional pays and benefits, you must create at least one budget unit.
Because Units are the largest group of jobs, they become the highest level you can adjust in Scenarios to reflect the largest impact on your budget.
