It all comes down to who has access to what Additional Pays and Benefits. Think through all of the Additional Pays and Benefits your organization offers. If a specific group of employees has a different Additional Pay or Benefit from the rest of the group, separate them into their own Unit.
Some of the most common units we see are:
- Salaried Employees
- Hourly Employees
- Seasonal Employees
- Union Employees (Can be broken down by the specific union -- Police, Fire, etc.)
However, if everyone in your organization has the same Additional Pays and Benefits, then congratulations! You only need one unit to hold everyone.
