If you are building a custom table, you can do so in Disclosure Studio while maintaining the automation provided by the MDFM. Use this guide to learn how to create and format a manual table.
Step-By-Step Instructions
Add a Manual Table to a Report
To build a custom table from scratch, select the Add Block button (blue plus sign) where you want your table to appear in your report.
Select Table
Select Manual
Now your new table is available inside of your report. Select Edit Table to begin.
Add and Automate the Data in the Table
Note: Manual tables function similarly to any spreadsheet software except with the boost from the automation made possible by the MDFM.
To automate this table, select a Cell and select the Chain icon in the top middle of the spreadsheets.
Select Number to bring in automated financial data.
First, select Source to choose which Statement the number or numbers are coming from.
Select Pivot View to select the Statement where the number or numbers are located.
Select Next to navigate to the pivot views from the MDFM.
To open additional details, select the Caret icons next the names of the sections.
Select the number(s) you wish to import.
To select multiple, first press Ctrl and then select all numbers you wish to import.
The cells you will import will be in a light purple shade.
- After selecting the area you want to import your table, click Next.
In the next menu, select Choose a Transformation to select how you wish to format the numerical data.
Select Finish
You will now see the cells that you just selected imported into the spreadsheet. These numbers will automatically refresh with changes made inside of the MDFM.
Tips for Formatting the Table in the Spreadsheet
Apply standard spreadsheet formulas to the linked numbers imported from the MDFM.
You can add new columns and rows, format the table as you see fit.
Utilize the tool bar to add any formatting to the cells and table.
Double-click to change and expand column and row sizes just as you would in Excel. This will be crucial when printing your report.
It is also recommended that you add divider columns in your table to ensure proper printing. This can be done by creating columns and resizing them.
