Key Actions to Know
Create a Chart and Add Data
- When you add a Chart to a page, it will immediately open the Add Chart modal to begin building.
- Note: If you already have a chart in place and need to make changes, click the Chart content block then Edit Chart.
- There is templated data in the table to get you started. Edit the data as needed.
- Note: Cell A1 is greyed out as Row 1 and Column A are meant to serve as the X and Y axis respectively.
- You can also upload a File from Excel, just be sure to name the sheet you want to upload in Excel "Display" to make the connection.
- If you need additional worksheets in the table for reference or custom calculations, select the Plus icon next to Display.
- Just like with a Manual table, you can add formulas to perform calculations.
Tip: Charts can also be automated with variables and other features.
Customize the Chart
- Under Chart Type, select the type of chart you want to use to visualize the data. You can change this at any time to see the different types.
- Click Customize to change the look of your chart.
- Enter the chart title to help readers know what they are looking at.
- Enter the horizontal and vertical axis titles to describe the category or values at the bottom and along the side of the chart.
- Note: You can add variables to any of these titles in a chart.
- Select Show Legend to help readers quickly tell multiple data sets apart on a chart.
- Select 3D to add depth to the chart.
- Adjust the width and height sliders to change the sizing of the chart.
- Tip: Reset it back to Auto as needed.
- Click the Plus by Subtitle, Credit Text and Credit Link to add this information as needed to the chart.
- Note: Variables can be added to the subtitle and credits text.
- When you're ready, click Add Chart
Note: While the table editor is the same as a manual table, formatting within the table for a chart will not carry into the chart.
