Add an Excel File in a Report Walkthrough

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. To begin, select the blue + on a content or note page type to add a table.
2. Select Excel
3. Select Update to upload your file from your computer.
   • Note: Make sure the sheet you want to reference in the Excel file is named "Display" before importing.
4. Click Refresh to see the Excel file in the report.

Key Actions to Know

To manage the Excel table, click on the Excel File block in the report section.

• Click Update to update the file.
• Click the Download icon to download the file.
  • Note: The file will be immediately downloaded to whatever file is selected as your Download folder within your browser.
• Select the Circled X to delete the file. 

Troubleshooting

Issue: Seeing the message “Error: No Display Worksheet Found”

Solution: Make sure the sheet within your Excel file is labeled “Display”

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q: What is the difference between uploading an Excel file into an Excel Table and importing an Excel File into a Manual Table?

A: We primarily recommend using our Manual Table feature and importing an Excel File. This allows you edit the table directly in the report and make the table dynamic with variables, rollover rules and formulas. Learn more with this article. 

However, importing an Excel File can be a viable option if your Excel file has different formatting that is not supported by our Editor. However, you will need to make any adjustments to the Excel file outside of Disclosure Studio and update the file as needed.
