Operational Budgeting
Comments Column on the Detailed Report
Comments can now be displayed directly within the Detailed Report in Operational Budgeting. Previously, comments were only visible when opening individual line items, making it difficult to review them across the budget at once.
With this update, you can add “Comments” as an optional report column to view each itemization’s comments, including the author, date, and time. Comments are also included when the report is exported to CSV or Excel, providing a more complete reference for budget review and decision-making.
To include comments in your Detailed Report:
- Open the Detailed Report in Operational Budgeting.
- Open the column selector on the right side.
- Expand “Additional Info” and select “Comments.”
- The “Comments” column will appear in the report and display comments associated with each itemization

Global Chart Settings
Configure chart settings for your entire document from one place, instead of updating each chart individually. Set defaults for colors and chart behavior across Historical Financial, Multi-Year, Single-Year, and Summary charts, so your report stays consistent with far less manual work.
Steps to access the feature:
- Go to Global Settings > Chart Configurations.
- Choose the tab for what you want to configure: Colors, Historical Financial Charts, Multi-Year Charts, Single-Year Charts, or Summary Charts.
- Adjust the settings and click Save Changes.
Display $ in Donut Charts
Donut chart values can now display a $ symbol. This setting is off by default. When you turn it on, the $ symbol appears on all system-generated donut charts, and the value font size adjusts automatically to fit it.
Steps to enable the feature:
- Go to Settings > Chart Configurations.
- Select the Single Year Charts tab.
- Turn on Display $ in Donut Charts.
- Save your changes.
Disclosure Studio
Disclosure Report Copy (carrying forward with Variables & Financial Model Links)
Create a copy of an existing Disclosure Report, complete with its variables, data connections, tables, and Financial Model pivots, without rebuilding it from scratch. Use it to spin up draft, review, or alternate versions while keeping the original untouched, and archive copies once they're no longer needed to keep your report listing focused on active work. Copying is controlled by the Copy Report permission, so only users with the right access can create one.
Steps to create a report copy:
- Administrators enable the Copy Report permission for the appropriate roles under Settings → User Management → Application Permissions.
- From the report listing page, select a report you have View or Edit access to.
- Choose the copy option to create a new draft version.
- Archive the draft from the report listing page once it's no longer needed.
Text Highlights with Brand Colors
Apply your organization's approved brand colors as text highlights in Text and Narrative Blocks. Select the text you want to call out, such as key fiscal context, operating updates, or debt-related disclosures, then choose a color from the highlight tool in the toolbar. Colors are managed centrally, so every author works from the same approved palette, and callouts stay consistent from one reporting period to the next.
Steps to use the feature:
- Select the text you want to highlight in a Text or Narrative Block.
- Click the highlight icon in the toolbar.
- Choose a color from the brand color palette.
- To remove a highlight, select the text and choose Reset Colors.
- To manage which colors are available, choose Configure Brand Colors from the same panel.
Splitting of Statement of Activities to Support State Disclosures
Split a wide Statement of Activities table across the left and right page sections when it doesn't fit on a single layout. This keeps the statement's column structure and alignment intact, so complex ACFR tables stay readable without shrinking fonts, manually redesigning the template, or making post-production edits outside Disclosure Studio.
Steps to Enable/Use the Feature:
- Import MDFM Financial Model
- Insert the specific Statement of Activities Tables & Pivots
- Click on Customize -> Select Template
- Click on the Dropdown on the Column from which the Split is Required.
- Click Finish -> Refresh
