Capital Budgeting
Historical Column
The “To Date” column within a request has been renamed to “Historical” and a tool tip has been added to better describe what this and the “Future” column data describe. This has been updated on all financial panels, reports, and the Dashboard tab.
Carry Forward Requests
An additional option within the carry forward screens is now available to better select which specific requests should be brought forward into the new budget. This provides more granularity and control when creating a new capital budget. This additional selection screen will only appear when the third carry forward option is selected.
Also, if a scenario and version are selected, only the included requests from that scenario will be available in the request panel for selection. To have all requests available, please remove the scenario and version.
Bulk Change Requests
With this upgrade, capital requests can now be edited in bulk through a new “Update” tab while within the Request Manager view. Also, the “Import” tab has been renamed to “Insert” to help differentiate between the two options that are now available.
The first step is to make sure that all the necessary people have been included into the capital budget. They don’t need to be invited for the bulk updates to apply, but they do need to be associated with the budget.
The second and third steps narrow down what requests need to be updated. This is broken down by the request types that are available and the subsequent requests associated with the selected type. Once the requests have been identified, the corresponding template should be downloaded. This will automatically fill in all the request details for easy updates in the correct format. This will make bulk changing the request owner from year to year more manageable as an example. Finally, the fourth step is where the updated template file is reuploaded into the system. Please be sure to use the correct template file with the matching request type selected in step two.
